Taketsuru 17 was one of Nikka’s most acclaimed blended malt whiskies, named after the brand’s founder Masataka Taketsuru. The blend combined single malts from the Yoichi and Miyagikyo distilleries, with a strong influence from ex-sherry casks. Nikka discontinued the expression in 2020, which turned it into a rare and expensive collector’s item.

Taketsuru 21 also earned worldwide acclaim as a pure malt whisky. It brought together single malts from Yoichi and Miyagikyo, each aged for at least 21 years in bourbon and sherry casks. Whisky enthusiasts praised the expression for its deep, rich, and complex profile.
