Our team hand-picks sherry-seasoned American and European oak casks, many of them first-fill. The result is a rich, woody whisky with a deep hue.

We select casks from the finest cooperages in Spain, which contributes to the whisky’s unique character. This process creates a diverse range of flavors unlike other Macallan expressions. Our team studies each cask closely, understanding how it interacts with the spirit and the colors it imparts. This detailed relationship between cask and craftsman shapes the final product.

Rare Cask features a unique blend, with each bottle potentially differing slightly due to the rare nature of some casks. Less than 1% of the casks at the distillery meet the criteria for Rare Cask, making this single malt particularly special.
