Kavalan Sherry & Port Cask Series
Taiwan’s Kavalan whisky continues to gain recognition worldwide, collecting one award after another. This growing success highlights the Sherry & Port Cask Series, which showcases four bold single malts. Each expression comes bottled at cask strength and carries no age statement, a hallmark of Kavalan’s style.
The Kavalan Amontillado offers a deep mahogany hue and remarkable intensity. In contrast, the Kavalan Manzanilla matures in sherry casks and delivers a dry, dark character. Furthermore, the Kavalan Moscatel shows equally intense color with rich complexity. Finally, the Kavalan Pedro Ximenez matures entirely in sherry casks, which gives it depth beyond the usual finishing process.
The Kavalan Soloist Amontillado presents fruity, sweet, and nutty aromas on the nose with touches of toffee and oak. The palate is soft and exotic, layered with sherry and caramel flavors. Its finish is long and smooth, with lingering notes of nut and pepper. With 57.8% ABV, the Soloist Amontillado is presented in 0.7-liter bottles.
The Kavalan Soloist Manzanilla offers a complex yet fruity nose, bringing out honeydew melon, toffee, cocoa, and a hint of cider. On the palate, it feels balanced and elegant, combining sweetness with a subtle salty edge. Flavors of vanilla, fresh fruit, and mint gradually emerge before a medium-long, intricate finish. This whisky also comes at 57.8% ABV in 0.7-liter bottles.
The Kavalan Soloist Moscatel reveals aromas of brownies, jam, honey, and sweets at first, followed by floral tones, toffee, and caramel. The palate feels rich and creamy, with nutty depth complemented by dried fruit and chocolate. Its finish is powerful and full-bodied. The Moscatel carries 57.1% ABV and is available in 0.7-liter bottles.
The Kavalan Soloist Pedro Ximenez opens with fresh citrus, toffee, rosemary, and lemongrass blending harmoniously with sweet oak. On the palate, it feels smooth and warming, enriched by layers of fruit. The finish is long-lasting, with honey and raisin notes that leave a memorable impression.
