Macallan Classic Cut 2020 Release

In the 20th century, Macallan mainly contributed to blends. By the 1980s, the distillery shifted to focusing on single malt. This change came with growing interest in high-quality releases from the 1960s and 1970s. Macallan had licensed these releases to Campbell, Hope & King, and Gordon & MacPhail. These releases are now highly collectible. To meet rising demand, Macallan opened a new distillery in 2018. This state-of-the-art facility at Easter Elchies estate features 36 copper pot stills.

The 2020 Classic Cut is the fourth release in the series, which began in 2017. It’s named after Macallan’s “finest cut,” highlighting their practice of selecting only the highest quality spirit from their stills.
