Dalmore Tay Dram – Season 11 is the crown jewel of the Whyte & Mackay portfolio, though this wasn’t always the case. The blenders purchased the distillery from the Mackenzie family in 1960, having been long-time customers. Due to its key role in their blends, they initially offered only a limited 12-year-old single malt bottling.

In 2011, Dalmore launched the first Rivers Collection, following the success of the 2010 Dee Dram bottling, a limited 12-year-old whisky that raised funds for the River Dee Salmon Trust. A second edition was released in 2012.

The Rivers Collection featured four whiskies, each named after famous Scottish Salmon rivers: The Dee, The Spey, The Tweed, and The Tay. Donations were made to the Tay Foundation, Tweed Foundation, Spey Foundation, and Dee Trust when the bottles were originally sold.

The mighty River Tay, the largest of Scotland’s Salmon rivers, is steeped in fishing legends.
